We have received the exciting news that there will be 20 Japanese students arriving from Japan to stay for 2 weeks with 4-H Manitoba Host Families from July 28–August 11, 2023. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to make a new friend from across the globe? Here’s your chance for just 2 short weeks to show your student what life is like in Manitoba, Canada, learn some Japanese words and make a lifelong friend. Manitoba Agriculture will hold a short seminar on the basics of animal health and biosecurity this month. This free event is the first in a small holder seminar series which hopes to provide animal owners with a greater understanding of raising healthy pigs and poultry. It will cover the key aspects of preventing disease transmission and some of the more commonly encountered conditions in small-scale settings. Ken Keis, president and CEO of Consulting Resource Group, was recognized by 4-H Canada for his dedication to working with people to build confidence, and motivate individuals to make a positive impact in the world around them. Keis, who got his start in 4-H in the Matsqui 4-H Holstein and Tractor Clubs, received the honour at the February 28 4-H Canada Leadership Awards virtual ceremony.
