Opportunities

4-H has a variety of opportunities available to both members & leaders. Don’t miss out on these great learning experiences!

Japan York-Benimaru Foundation and 4-H Manitoba Homestay Program

In July 2019, ten 4-H Manitoba members and two chaperones traveled to Japan for two weeks.  This travel opportunity is open only to 4-H families who have hosted a Japanese student through our program.  If you would like a chance to travel in the future, consider hosting a Japanese student during our next summer program (dates to be confirmed). Please contact lmcrae-walker@4h.mb.ca for more information about the program.

Careers on the Grow

Careers on the Grow is a career exploration program where you can explore career paths, apply your skills and gain hands-on work experience. Being part of your 4-H club prepares you for your future career by learning decision-making, communication, and leadership skills – which are in demand in today’s workplace.
Through Careers on the Grow, you can put these skills to work and grow them further through internship placements, networking, mentorship opportunities and career exploration resources.

4-H at Home Outreach Initiatives

The 4-H at Home Outreach Initiatives provide clubs, youth, and families – both within and beyond the     4-H program – opportunities to take part in relevant and engaging activities that focus on experiential learning, leadership and skill-building. Outreach Initiatives are packaged activity kits that include all curriculum and materials members and families at home, as well as clubs and their leaders, need to run hands-on exploration activities related to the topic.

For more information on 4-H at Home and to download resources from past initiatives, visit                            4-h-canada.ca/4-h-at-home.

Club to Club Exchange

Due to Covid-19, Club to Club Exchange has been put on hold.  Please watch for updates as they become available.

This program provides groups of 10 delegates (ages 12-17) and their chaperones an opportunity to learn first-hand about a different part of Canada, while gaining lasting experiences and friendships.  During July and August, groups stay with host families and experience a unique immersion of culture, language and history.
