Save the date! The first annual Green Tie Gala will be held November 1, 2023, at the Dome Building on the Keystone Centre grounds in Brandon. Held in conjunction with Show Your 4-H Colours kickoff, this night promises to be a night filled with good food, good drink and great people wearing green to show their support for 4-H Manitoba. The evening will feature a silent auction, 50/50 Raffle, and our amazing guest speaker – Carly Minish-Wytinck – 4-H Manitoba Alumni and president and founder of Smak Dab Gourmet Mustard. We anticipate this evening being a great success in helping raise awareness about 4-H, and also raising funds that will be used to continue to grow our province-wide programs and events for our 4-H Manitoba members. Tickets to attend the dinner are $100 each, tables of eight – $800, and will go on sale soon! 4-H Manitoba clubs and Area Councils are reminded that they have until Thursday, June 1 to return ballots to the M4HC office.

On Saturday, April 15th, 2023, at the Keystone Centre in Brandon, 91 4-H members participated in the Provincial 4-H Communications Extravaganza. These members had risen to the top through a series of competitions from club level to area levels across the province.
Members competed in the following categories: Cloverbud, Junior, Intermediate, Senior and Adult Speeches, Cloverbud, Junior, Intermediate, Senior and Adult One-Person Visual Presentations, Junior, Intermediate and Senior Two-Person Visual Presentations. An awards presentation followed each competition session.
Approximately 500 people attended the Provincial Communications Extravaganza. Thank you to the committee volunteers – Linda McRae-Walker, Wenda Best, Cheryl Antonio and Julie Labossiere – as well as the judges and other volunteers for a job well done. Special thanks to our sponsors for their generous support: BASF, FCC, Manitoba Agriculture, Peavey Mart and SeCan. The 4-H International Art Exchange is a four-part exchange between Canada, Poland, Taiwan and the United States. If you would like to be part of the exchange, visual letters must be mailed or dropped off to M4HC Program Coordinator Linda McRae-Walker, 658 Unit-A 10th Street, Brandon R7A 4G5 by April 14 (if a representative from your club is attending the Provincial Communications Extravaganza on April 15, they are also welcome to bring the visual letters with them). For more information, please read the International Art Exchange Rules. Please be sure to attach your parent authorization form to the back of your picture.

This year, our Intermediate Members’ Event is taking place at Camp Manitou. The event will start on Saturday at 10 a.m. and end on Sunday at 2 p.m. If you would like to register for this event, please go to our database https://www.4hmanitoba.ca/. Be sure to use the member’s login ID and password, then go to events and select May 27 on the calendar.
There are only 50 spots available and your spot is not guaranteed until your registration fee is received. You must also be enrolled in a 4-H Manitoba Club and your 2022/23 fees must be paid before you can attend this event. The weekend will be jam-packed full of activities that everyone should enjoy!
