On the Trail of Conservation Careers
During our 4th Agri-Career Quest, held May 20th – 23, senior and adult 4-H members travelled north to explore a variety of career opportunities within Manitoba’s agriculture and natural resources sectors.
One of our stops was in Swan River, where members met Conservation Officer Noah Klos. He provided great insight into his career path and what led him to be in Conservation. His love of his career was evident and appreciated.
Noah also provided information for anyone that might be interested in pursuing work in his field. They provide ride-along opportunities so that people can get a better idea of the work they do. If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact the 4-H Office and they will get you the form to fill out. Additionally, there are opportunities for summer employment as a Patrol Officer throughout the Province. The competition for summer 2027 opportunities will open this coming November/December, and details can be found on the Manitoba Government Job Opportunities website or by following the Manitoba Conservation Officer Association (MCOA) Facebook and Instagram pages.
Keystone Agricultural Producers Keeps Giving Back to 4-H
Keystone Agricultural Producers (KAP) was a sponsor this year of our extremely popular photo booth at Provincial Rally, and we are very grateful to them. But they didn’t stop there! They have generously provided us with some disposable coveralls to distribute to our 4-H Manitoba family. We only have one size, XL, and they will be given on a first come first serve basis. If you are interested, they can be picked up at the office at 658 Unit-A 10th Street in Brandon. Once they are gone, they are gone. Thanks so much to KAP for thinking of 4-H and supporting us.
Speaking of KAP – You Can Join Their Golf Tournament
The 2026 Campbell Classic, the annual KAP golf tournament, will be held at Larters at St. Andrews Golf and Country Club on July 23, 2026. You could be part of this fun day – you can register as an individual or a team. Registration includes Green Fees, Power Cart, lunch AND dinner! 4-H Canada Leadership Webinar Series Coming This Fall
This year, in place of an in-person Leadership Summit, 4-H Canada will be launching a monthly Leadership Webinar Series designed specifically for leaders across the country.
The series will explore practical topics to support leaders in their roles, including virtual leadership, diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility (DEIA), succession planning, urban clubs, club finances, and FCC funding opportunities.
4-H Canada wants the series to reflect the topics that matter most to you. If you have ideas for webinar topics or speakers, please share them with Catherine at cmillermort@4-h-canada.ca by Friday, July 24.
