A new website, www.smallscalepigfarming.com, is available to help farmers achieve their goals in raising pigs outdoors. Information on the site was developed through a collaborative effort that included small-scale pig farmers across Canada, veterinarians and Prairie Swine Centre.
The No Stone Left Alone program provides a framework for youth to plan, lead and participate in hands-on, outdoor remembrance events in their communities. The program focuses on exploring local cemeteries to learn more about the military veterans at rest there, and then honouring those individuals by placing poppies on their headstones in a unique event. The 4-H International Art Exchange is a four-part exchange between Canada, Poland, Taiwan and the United States. If you would like to be part of the exchange, visual letters must be mailed or dropped off to M4HC Program Coordinator Linda McRae-Walker, 658 Unit-A 10th Street, Brandon R7A 4G5 by April 14 (if a representative from your club is attending the Provincial Communications Extravaganza on April 15, they are also welcome to bring the visual letters with them). This year, our Intermediate Members’ Event is taking place at Camp Manitou. The event will start on Saturday at 10 a.m. and end on Sunday at 2 p.m. If you would like to register for this event, please go to our database https://www.4hmanitoba.ca/. Be sure to use the member’s login ID and password, then go to events and select May 27 on the calendar.
There are only 50 spots available and your spot is not guaranteed until your registration fee is received. You must also be enrolled in a 4-H Manitoba Club and your 2022/23 fees must be paid before you can attend this event. The weekend will be jam-packed full of activities that everyone should enjoy!
