4-H International Rural Exchange – Ireland
Dates and Details of the Program
- May 13 – 20, 2026 (you will fly to Ireland on the 12th and leave for home on the 21st)
- Four Manitobans (aged 17-21 as of July 1, 2025) will participate as part of 30 Canadian delegates and 3 chaperones
- The program includes touring agriculture businesses and festivals in Ireland. Delegates will be staying at a host Hotel and will be following a guide developed by the International Rural Exchange.
Eligibility criteria:
- Must have been enrolled in a 4-H Manitoba Club during this 4-H year (2024-2025) and are also registering as a 4-H member for the 2025-2026 year.
- Members must be in good standing.
- Must be 17 -21 years of age as of July 1, 2025.
- NOTE: Members who have previously travelled on 4-H awarded trips ARE eligible for this travel and eligibility for future National and International 4-H travel will not be affected.
Cost:
- Delegates will be responsible for covering their flight costs to and from Ireland. Delegates will be required to fly to Dublin Airport. Manitoba 4-H Council will assist with booking flights and invoice you for the flight cost. Additionally, there will be a registration fee of $1750 CAD. Delegates should also be bringing some spending money in the local currency to purchase souvenirs or snacks while in Ireland.
Registration Fee Includes:
- Ground transportation for the week once delegates arrive at the airport in Dublin.
- Three meals a day
- Shared Hotel accommodations.
Selection Process:
If you meet the eligibility criteria and want to apply:
- Fill out the application form. ** Please note that it is evaluated and counts as part of the selection criteria.
- Submit the application form to Linda at lmcrae-walker@4h.mb.ca by August 31, 2025. Delegates will be informed if they are selected or not once the application period is closed.
