Dr. Kendiss Olafson
Keynote Speaker: Dr. Kendiss Olafson
We are honored to welcome Dr. Kendiss Olafson as our keynote speaker for the evening. Dr. Olafson is an intensive care physician and Assistant Professor at the University of Manitoba, with a deep commitment to long-term mental health recovery following critical illness, and the well-being of healthcare workers.
Dr. Olafson’s roots run deep in Manitoba’s agricultural community. Growing up on a dairy farm in Lundar, Manitoba, she was an active 4-H member for over ten years. Her 4-H journey included participating in a variety of projects, competing in Communications at the provincial level, and seizing travel opportunities to Alberta and Washington. Her family also hosted a participant through the Japanese exchange program, and she proudly served as a 4-H ambassador during her university years.
Dr. Olafson will bring her unique blend of professional expertise and personal 4-H experiences to the Green Tie Gala as she shares her insights on “4-H: Building Healthy and Resilient Youth.” Her speech will highlight how the values and skills nurtured through 4-H play a crucial role in developing strong, adaptable young people who are equipped to face the challenges of today’s world. Her story will resonate with anyone who understands the transformative power of 4-H.
