4-H International Rural Exchange – Ireland

 

Dates and Details of the Program

  • May 14-21, 2027 (Dates of travel may be +/- a day depending on flight paths available).
  • 40 member/youth delegates will be chosen to go. Four spots have been given to Manitoba.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Members must be between the ages of 17-21 by time of travel to attend.
  • Must have been enrolled in a 4-H Manitoba Club during 4-H year (2025-2026) and are also registering as a 4-H member for the 2026-2027 year.
  • NOTE: Members who have previously travelled on 4-H awarded trips ARE eligible for this travel and eligibility for future National and International 4-H travel will not be affected.

Tour will Include:

  • Balmoral Agricultural Show
  • A variety of farms
  • Activities such as Zip Lining, learning Irish sports
  • Research farm
  • A chance to meet with the Young Irish Farmers group
  • Visiting Irish places of interest including castles etc.

Registration Cost:

  • Members will be responsible for the $2,000 registration fee
  • Registration fee covers accommodations, ground transportation once in Ireland, activities, and three meals a day
  • Registration will be paid directly to 4-H Canada. Payment plans available once registration is completed.

Air Travel

  • Members will be responsible for their flight cost from Canada to Dublin.
  • Flights will be booked with 4-H Canada’s travel service provider, Corporate Traveller.
  • 4-H members will also need to purchase travel insurance for their trip – or review their personal insurance policy.
  • Dates of travel may be +/- a day depending on flight paths available.

Selection Process:

If you meet the eligibility criteria and want to apply:

  1. Fill out the application form ** Please note that it is evaluated and counts as part of the selection criteria.
  2. Submit the application form to Linda at lmcrae-walker@4h.mb.ca by August 28, 2026.
  3. Delegates will be informed if they are selected or not once the application period is closed.
