M4HC has received an update from the Manitoba government regarding Equine and Beef activities. Please see below.

New health restrictions are in effect as of Wednesday, April 28, 2021 and the province remains in the Red (Critical) level on the pandemic emergency response system.  The new restrictions will remain in effect until 12:01 a.m. on May 25, 2021, unless terminated earlier.  4-H Manitoba clubs are reminded to follow provincial health guidelines, as well as the 4-H specific requirements listed here.

These new restrictions affect 4-H in-person activities as follows:

All persons are prohibited from assembling in a gathering of more than 10 persons at an outdoor public place (Fairgrounds, etc).

Outdoor horseback riding lessons are permitted.

Group sizes are limited to 10 people on public property, unless all persons are participating in an organized practice, game or competition at an outdoor sporting facility.

Indoor horseback riding facilities – may open for individual play, group and individual instruction, and team practices, if:

  • Any group of persons participating in a sporting activity at the facility does not exceed 10 persons, excluding coaches or instructors
  • Reasonable measures are taken to ensure there is no interaction between different groups of participants
  • Dressing rooms are limited to 25% of the usual capacity or to a number that ensures that all persons in the dressing room are able to maintain a separation of at least two metres from others.
  • Members of the public at the facility are able to maintain separation of at least two metres from other members of the public while not engaged in a sporting activity
  • Occupancy of all portions of the facility other than dressing rooms and areas where sporting activities are conducted is limited to 25% of the usual capacity

Livestock auctions are permitted. The operator must implement measures to ensure that members of the public attending the business or facility are reasonably able to maintain a separation of at least two metres from other members of the public.

Please contact your Club Support Coordinator for further advice.

We must all work together to take the safest approach for all, especially with the increasing number of youth affected by this third wave.  Limiting close contacts is an approach we can actively take to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

As this is a rapidly evolving situation, we recommend staying up-to-date by visiting: http://www.manitoba.ca/covid19/index.html.

4-H Head Leaders:  If you plan to resume in-person activities, the activity planning form at https://4-h-canada.i-sight.com/external-capture must be completed and approved in advance.   Also, please ensure that COVID-19 waiver forms https://4h.mb.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/COVID-19-waiver_4-H-Canada_June-2020-002.pdf have been returned to the office.
