Who are we?
We are a 4-H resource!
In 1979, a group of
enthusiastic former 4-H'ers wishing to further support and voluntarily serve
4-H established the Manitoba 4-H Ambassadors The Manitoba 4-H Ambassadors are a nonprofit organization
with members aged 17-22, where membership is drawn from every area in the
province.
As an organization, our
goal is to promote 4-H and provide opportunities for youth to learn and
participate in leadership opportunities. With financial sponsorship from
organizations and corporations, along with our own fundraising the
Ambassadors host the City Survival Weekend in Winnipeg, Manitoba and offer a
Peggy Coverdale Scholarship each year to a deserving 4-H Member who is
continuing his/her education at a post-secondary institution.
Goals of
the Manitoba 4-H Ambassadors are
as follows:
- The 4-H program include:
- acting as a 4-H resource at
club, area, provincial and national levels.
- promoting 4-H within and
outside of the program
- enhancing personal
development of 4-H members
- providing learning
experiences for 4-H members and leaders.
- providing responsible adult
role models for 4-H members.
- providing more opportunities
for senior members to be involved in 4~H.
- Its membership include:
- expanding personal scope by
providing learning experiences.
- providing opportunities for
professional development.
- providing opportunities for
leadership development.
- providing opportunities for
social growth.
- allowing interested young
adults to remain involved in the 4-H program.
